Research Can Change Lives

How I Got into Clinical Research

I took a year off medical school as an NIH-funded T32 predoctoral fellow, pursuing a Clinical & Translational Science certificate. My published research focused on complications patient-reported postoperative outcomes, and disparities in medical education and training.

My current research Interests include:

  • The role of plastic surgery in obesity medicine and its Integration following bariatric surgery

  • Patient-reported outcomes in body contouring surgery following massive weight loss

  • Racial disparities in plastic surgery training and patient outcomes

  • Wound healing and predictors of wound complication

  • The utilization of social media and AI technology in surgical care, including potential racial biases in its use

  • Disparities in Medical Education and surgical training
